Alan Parks Aparks6591@aol.com Best Friend 2010 longview dr Greenville,NC 27858 USA My Best Friend Pat Quinn Pat and I grew up togeather on the Lake front of Chicago. We spent many hours in lake Michigan pretending to be frog men(UDT) we had planned to become Navy UDT members or as its now called Seals. The 66 draft put Pat into the Army and I was still I school at that time. Pat went through bootcamp etc and was sent to Nam shortly there after. He wasnt in country very long before being Killed by sniper fire on guard duty.Bullet entered left side of his head the side he was deaf on as he had a punctured ear drum from a car accident when we were in 6th grade and a bad knee to boot. He was a victum of not just the Viet Nam war but of the Mc Namara regime. Iwent into the Marine Corps and served 25 years with several combat tours and escaped any wounding of the body, the inner soul is another story. To see that Pat is listed as self inflicted is Bullshit Sunday, October 17, 1999
Colleen Quinn Karol30@aol.com Sister 18420 Oakley Lansing, Ill 60438 USA To My Brother You were always my hero! I remember you each day.Sometimes I cry because the wounds never heal. They told us you died on guard duty. What is meant by accidental self destruct? You were deaf in one ear and had a tumer removed from your leg, a large bottle of aspirin came back with your belongings.I can only imagine the pain you felt marching, and can only wonder why a deaf private was placed on guard duty? You wanted to serve your country, this is what you told me, and this is what you did. I dedicated my life to serving others, this I did to honor the brother who told me, how proud he was that I was helping sick people in the hospital as he got ready to leave for war. Till we meet again in heaven. Your baby sister, Colleen Quinn R.N. Tuesday, October 30, 2001
