JOHN LEE REID

JOHN  ODONNELL
MARINE VET
TO HONOR ONE OF THE BRAVEST CORPSMAN
Well the name DOC is something to behold. Not everyone can be a DOC It takes a man with special courage and conviction to be a NAVY CORPSMAN (DOC). These men go into battle with not weapons but with medical kits. and then when the battle is at it's fiercest than the call comes DOC UP. He goes, and while bullets and bombs going off the CORPSMAN gives aid to his fallen charges. These MEN are real HERO'S and we should remember their deeds daily. SEMPER FI DOC and THANK YOU. You are not forgotten

Doc: You are remembered by the Marines & Corpsmen of India Co. 3rd., Bn., 1st Marines. Many years have passed and the firefights and your attempt, along with Doc. Ekart (Ottumwa, Ia.) to rescue wounded Marines on 26Jan68 have not diminished even a little bit. You gave your life to save others. Semper Fi ! Van Scheurich, USMC 1966-69

NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die

John Reid, Hn~ Navy Corpsman. I was in Corps School, at Balboa, San Diego, class 21-67 with John. I didn't know him well, but he seemed like a real nice guy, a gentle giant. John was a big man, could of been a Marine. I'm sure John was a good Corpsman, that the Marines liked and respected. I'm surprised after all these years that there isn't anything on this page about him. I'm not sure what unit he was with. You are not forgotten, John. May you rest in peace.Hm3~ Rick Zunino A Co. 1/26 Marines 2nd platoon, Dec 67~Dec 68
