Garnet Jenkins Just passing by... Grand Junction, Co. In Rememberance, of a Fallen, Hero Remembering, Maj., Robert Lloyd Abernathy, with a Multitude of Thanks, for his Many, Years, of Service and Dedication, to our Country and for Freedom. Rest well and know, that you will, NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. I'am the sister, of such a young hero, who made the Supreme Sacrifice, in Vietnam, 1967.... Oh, I have slipped, the surly bonds, of earth And danced the skies, on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've, climbed and joined the tumbling mirth, Of sun-split clouds -- and done, a hundred things... And while, with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untresspassed, sanctity, of space.... Put out, my hand and touched the face, of God. Sep 3, 2006 |
