In Tribute to LCpl Bobby Dale Rogers, with So Much Gratitude for his Courage, Service and Dedication to our Country and for Freedom. Rest well and know that you will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. I am the sister of Sgt David Dickinson, another young hero, who also made the Supreme Sacrifice in Vietnam 1967.....'LET US SOLEMNLY REMEMBER THE SACRIFICES, OF ALL THOSE WHO FOUGHT SO VALIANTLY, ON THE SEAS, IN THE AIR AND ON FOREIGN SHORES, TO PRESERVE OUR HERITAGE OF FREEDOM, AND LET US RE-CONSECRATE OURSELVES TO THE TASK OF PROMOTING AN ENDURING PEACE, SO THAT THEIR EFFORTS, SHALL NOT HAVE BEEN IN VAIN.' ~ Dwight Eisenhower

Forty years today
LCpl: Today is forty years since you gave all for our country and our Corps. Someday we will meet in Heaven with its streets guarded by United States Marines. You are in the company of many forgotten heroes. With great admiration from those who returned home to those who did not: Semper Fi!!

Bobby and I served together with K Co. 3/26th Marines in 1968-69. He was a great guy and a great Marine. I was with Bobby at his death in the mine field. He was extremely brave in compact and I am very proud to have served with him. I will never forget you.

Fellow  Marine
Well done Marine rest in peace

THE TIME you won your town the race We chaired you through the market-place Man and boy stood cheering by, And home we brought you shoulder-high. To-day, the road all runners come, Shoulder-high we bring you home, And set you at your threshold down, Townsman of a stiller town. Smart lad, to slip betimes away From fields where glory does not stay And early though the laurel grows It withers quicker than the rose. Eyes the shady night has shut Cannot see the record cut, And silence sounds no worse than cheers After earth has stopped the ears: Now you will not swell the rout Of lads that wore their honours out, Runners whom renown outran And the name died before the man. So set, before its echoes fade, The fleet foot on the sill of shade, And hold to the low lintel up The still-defended challenge-cup. And round that early-laurelled head Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead, And find unwithered on its curls The garland briefer than a girl’s. A.E. Housman, "Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you.
I've called your name. You're mine.
