Tis a Rose that falls from above
Carlie This is the first time I came across this page but it was nice to see the people that left messages so far I want to leave this peom that I wrote for you in 1973 I have the chance to visit you quite often as I a member of the Massachusetts Vigil Society and were at the wall every May 30 to bring attention to the still unaccounted for (POW/MIA)I was at the wall 25 years ago and expect to be there this Nov to help read all of the Names on the wall. Well we know what our relation is and that was and is good. Tis a Rose Tis a Rose that falls from above, Tis a Rose made of pure Love, but in this time this time of war when Man has such little love to be store,So it is that we watch this Rose quiver and die. but it is mans Love lessing lessing as time goes by. dedicated to the Memory Of Carlos Jame Rose K.I.A. A Rose Unlike Any Other
Dear Carl...
Although I don't remember, my Mother (Patty Rose)tells me that we met when I was just a little girl and you a teenager. I'm 41 years old now with a 10 year old little boy of my own who is intrigued by a cousin he never met. Tonite he had a homework assignment to write about a friend or relative that served in the armed forces...he wrote about you. Even before this, he asked me one day, "Mom, did anyone in our family ever die in a war?" This was a momentous moment for me. It was then that I realized so many things about you...what a sacrifice you made; that you never had the opportunity to marry or have a family of your own and just how short your life was. 20 is too young to die. So for your valor, your bravery and courage we keep you very much alive in our house. You are the epitome of a hero. I am honored to call you my cousin and even more so to introduce you to my son. with love, lisa

still can see your sweet smile and hear your wild laugh
it wasn't until i visited the "moving wall" in my local area a few years ago that the reality hit that you really died in vietnam. thanks to my dear old friend still in MA, Marilou Newell, i was able to get info on all the vets from my home town who died in vietnam. i cried for you that day and still feel sadness for the loss of so many. you live on in my memory, forever young, handsome and full of life and humor.
