Mike  Davis michael.davis@gexpro.com none 567 S Toledo St Elmore OH 43416 USA Just a note... I went to the University of Toledo in 1972 fresh from high school. I don't recall any of the specifics of how, when, or where I obtained it, but I wore Lonnie's POW bracelet for a couple of years. Five years later I got married, and I'm pretty sure I no longer wore it. I am somewhat of a pack-rat, and it has always bothered me that this small metal piece of my life was gone or lost, and I never knew what happened to it. But my memory has never failed me in remembering Lonnie's name. I explained this to my 2nd wife and our four children, ages 19 to 22 just two weeks ago. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is coming to our small town tomorrow, 8/9/12, through Monday the 13th. My wife and I have volunteered to help as visitor guides. I consider this an honor to be able to do so. Although my political beliefs of this war are not important, the fact that Lonnie and 58,000 + Americans gave their lives for the benefit and welfare of our great nation make them heroes in my eyes. It is also extremely special to me to be able to read about Lonnie and the lives he touched and the type of man he was. He will be the first name I rub, and I hope that
the other names on the wall are enjoying their time in heaven as they deserve the best after giving the ultimate here on earth...God bless each and every one....

Jim  Bishop jim@jimbishop.com Pilot Training Classmates Reese AFB 1512 Woodland Drive Pittsburg KS 66762 USA Buddies in pilot training Pat and I were close friends in pilot training at Reese AFB, Texas. We once rented a Cessna 172 and flew back to Oklahoma and Kansas for the weekend to see family. Pat was well liked in our squadron at pilot training. He had a way of making everyone laugh and enjoy life. He used to sing during practice missions, not well, but that didn't matter. He obviously was a great patriot serving 2 tours in Viet Nam. The rest of us that flew missions in Viet Nam were lucky and will always consider folks like Pat to be the real heros. Nov 11, 2010 |

Louis  Fraccola lafraccola@hotmail.com Braclet Holder 2050 Tilden Ave New Hartford NY 13413 USA You've always been in my thoughts It was 1972 when I became aquianted with the name Capt. Lonnie Bogard. I was a senior in high school when one social club took on a project of making sure the entire student body was wearing one of these bracelets. Today in the year 2010 and at the age of 54, Capt. Bogard's name is still in my thoughts. With the help of my brother who also served in the Vietnam war, we searched for Vietnam's Veterans Memorial and located his name. At this time I would like to express my sympathy to his entire family, and to say it was a privilege and honor to where this bracelet with his name engraved in it. I will be wearing this bracelet until Capt. Lonnie Bogard returns home. Feb 3, 2010 |

During the 60's, my father was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base, Being a former POW during WWII, he was forever impressing upon me the sacrifices made for my freedom. One special day, he brought home a bracelet inscribed, Capt. Lonnie Pat Bogard. I wore the bracelet for years and years and prayed each night for Capt. Bogard. Unfortunately, during a move, the bracelet was lost. I felt so honored to have worn it. I salute your ultimate sacrifice on this Memorial Day. May 25, 2009 |
