Childhood friend & sweetheart
Murfreesboro TN 37128 USA
I met Ronald even before we started elementary school. We graduated high school together from Pearl High School class of 1966, Nashville, TN and entered A&I State, now known as TN State University the summer of 1966.I have written two poems in tribute to Ronnie, which I shared with his father before he passed. I think of Ronnie often and sometimes see him in my dreams. I will never stop loving or thinking of him as my hero. Ronnie escorted me to my first semi-formal dance @ the Preston Taylor Center. He gave up so much at such an early age. I still remember attending his funeral@ Mt. Zion and crying uncontrollably during taps at the Veteran's graveyard in Madison, TN. I had a migraine for several days following. When the Viet Nam Memorial Wall came to Nashville back in the 80's,I went to Hermitage and made an etching of Ronnie's name. I will never forget you, Ronnie, as long as I have breath in my body. I pray that you rest in peace.

You, Sir, Have Not Been Forgotten!

I had the opportunity to visit The Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC. As I searched and, found the names of my friends, classmates, neighbors etched into the smooth, black face of the Wall, an extraordinary outpouring of emotion became so strong. I was so overwhelmed with sorrow and pain that I could not hold back the tears for those heroes and their families who lost so much. Though my visit to the Wall was a few years ago, I feel that I left a piece of my heart there. To honor those who died in the Vietnam War and to say thank youGǪI created a small tribute to those heroes. Please click on the link above to view memorial website.
