Precious Brother
I am the sister that was given up for adoption at birth. Although I knew I had a birth brother named Don I never actually knew or met any in birth family until after your death in Vietnam. My other birth family brothers have joined you, Skip and Jon. It is my hope that when my time to leave this earth I will be able to meet you as well as join my adopted brother Rodger Kistler that preceeded me in death. Would love to hear from anyone that served with you in Vietnam.

Genuine American Hero
July 4,1968 was the worst day of my life. All 4th of July's after that were equally bad. But fate was such that our soon-to-be 9-year old, Elana Dawn Shearer, was born on July 4, 1995. I wanted her middle name to be Don but was over-ruled, and her middle name is Dawn (which is close enough). May Don rest in peace. He is indeed a genuine American hero!
