As a teacher, I thought it would be good for my students to visit the Vietnam Memorial with more than just a look at the wall. So instead, I found names of soldiers that had actually died on the day of our visit and had my students make an etching of their names. It was so much more personal and touching. You are not forgotten.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, Who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves under the flag, And whose coffin is draped in the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the flag ©Copyright by Charles M. Province Throughout our history America has been built on the blood of Heros and Brave Men of Honor like this Solider. Thank you for your service, bravery, and for the ultimate sacrifice you have made. Thank you for my freedom. Rest well in Gods loving embrace brave solider. You Sir are a true American Hero who is remembered by a grateful Veteran.

Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

I had, the opportunity to visit, The Vietnam Memorial Wall. I was so overwhelmed, with sorrow and pain, that I could not hold, back the tears, for those heroes and their families, who lost so much. Though my visit, to the Wall was, a few years ago, I feel, that I left a piece, of my heart there. To honor those, who died in the Vietnam, War and to say thank you, I created a small tribute, to those heroes. Please click, on the link above, to view, my website.

Jerry Borman was a great kid, growing up in Hammond, Indiana. We attended Edison Junior High together and then went on to Hammond High School. Jerry graduated with us in June 1959. He is remembered as a quiet, unassuming young man, who always greeted you with a smile and a kind word. Those of us who knew him have been moved by his sacrifice and the great gift given for others. I've been to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC, several times and always stop to pay my respects to Jerry and the thousands of other young men and women who have joined him.
