Andy,Can't believe it's been 46 years.I remember when you walked on your hands on the flight deck of the USS Ogden.A strong man.I was on the next squad to cross that river. That is a day I will never forget.I sat with you after your body was pulled to the rear along with Leo Miller. When I returned to the states in 1970 I visited with your dad Max and your mom and sister. We had dinner together and a 4 hour talk.Your dad and I wrote letters talking about you.Your in good hands now.

My childhood bestfriend's brother
43 years ago today, has never been forgotten: As your little sister's best friend, as your neighbor from across the street in Villa Park,(whose family was not excluded from your pranks!), as now an adult that can fully appreciate what you've done...the words, 'Thank You'...just isn't enough. But, Thanks, Andy Char (Tiss) Patiot Guard Rider 2011 North Texas

Boot Camp Remembered
On this our 40th anniversary of graduation from "boot camp', it is with sad heart that I find your name on the "Wall". At best it is difficult to put together names with faces in that hectic period of "boot camp" back in 1968, to remember clearly all who worked so hard to earn the EG&A.
From what I found searching this website, we have two hero's from our platoon that gave their "all".
John F. Schrom & Paul A. Stein.
Especially on this up coming Memorial Day, you will be in my thoughts.

Andy, a great gymnast, a great soldier
Andy,I wasn't your best friend or anything, but I went to some of the meets. My pal Dale, (army) hung out with you. I was in Viet Nam, wounded twice and sent home when I heard. You were a great gynnast, everyone remembers you and the whole Willowbrook H.S. community mourns you to this day. Ted Sturtevant, Dave Burkes, Hans Lange, Claud Protz, there were more from the school. I don't remember all of them. You were something Andy. May peace be with you. Sam J.
