Donald  Devaney donald.devaney@amedd.army.mil Former First Sergeant 98-911 Ainanui Loop Aiea HI 96701 USA In Memory of an MP Sergeant Thomas was indeed an MP. I was assigned as 1SG of the 524th MP Company (Corps) at Fort Shafter, HI in July 1966 after completing a tour of duty in Vietnam. Sergeant Thomas was an enelisted member of the company, a dedicated and patriotic black soldier during the trying times. He approached me to volunteer for duty in Vietnam because he wanted to serve his time and remember the Army from the war zone as opposed to Waikiki Beach. I encouraged him and of course devastated when I learned he was killed protecting the US Embassy during the TET Offensive. Oct 12, 2008
