My brother, My Hero
Today is a day that weighs heavy on my heart. I am sorry you never had the opportunity to meet your nephew, neices and grand-neices. They would have loved you. Kep an eye on all of us and be sure to give dad and mom a hug and kiss for me. I miss you all very much and will always love you and keep all of you in my heart. REST IN PEACE. Love, Cathy

He was the first friend I made in Vietnam

I knew Jerry Trezek as 'Terry'. We met at the Rockpile in 1968 and became buddies. On September 9th, 1968 we were on Mutter's Ridge engaged in a fierce battle for Hill 461. I was the tactical air controlman, he as the CO's radio operator. I was trying to get a chopper into our LZ to take out wounded and drop off resupply. We were taking 50 cal machine gun fire when the chopper attempted to land. I didn't know at that time that Jerry had come to help me land the chopper and try to spot the gun that was firing on is. He was hit by the machinegun fire and died instantly. I'll always remember that because he was the first good friend I had made and he was shot just yards away from where I was standing. He died trying to help me. Rest in piece Jerry, I've thought of you often for the past 40+ years. Bob Hunt

Served Together

Jerry served his country with pride. He gave his life carrying other wounded Marines on to a waiting CH46 that was under small arms fire on Hill 461. I'll never forget you Bro, all the good times we had and the card games that kept us somewhat sane. Until we meet again. Semper-Fi Always Ray
