Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. "He which hath no stomach to this fight let him depart. But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! Here's a picture of Tim Veltman's squad taken somewhere in Vietnam in 1966. I'm the tall guy, back row, center. Tim is 2nd from the right as we look at the picture.

Remember that ring you made from a half dollar and gave to me while we were in Alaska. Still have it. Miss you buddy.

Dam it, Tim. Maybe someday I'll turn and you'll get up. Please get up.

The more time passes , the more I realize what a great loss we suffered on that dreadful day. Tim had a magnetic personality and unflappable sense of humor. A first class soldier that anyone would be proud to call friend. Tim, You're always in my thoughts.

I recently visited Washington DC and went to The Wall. It was an emotional experience I hope I never have again. So young - so brave. Peace Tim.

Tim and I served together in the 60th Inf. 172nd Br and then the 4/23rd in Alaska. We shipped out for Viet Nam in April, 1966. He and I were together when he was shot. It happened very quickly. He did not suffer.
