Why!
A tank had hit a mine on the top of the hill and our Captain asked for volunteers to go sweep around the tank with our mine detectors and remove any mines. Jerry and Latessa cleared around the side of the tank that had the track off and thought they had cleared all the mines, Jerry stepped into a area that he thought was cleared and stepped on a mine which killed him instantly and critically wounded Latessa which died two days later. Why did this have to happen to such great guys?

Forty years today
LCpl: Today is forty years since you sacrificed all for your country and our Corps. We did our tours in Hell. Someday we will know we arrived in Heaven when we see the streets guarded by United States Marines. Semper Fi!!
