THANK YOU VETARANS
. . Contributed By Bob McFarlane On Saturday, May 24, 2003
I am thanking all who have served and are still serving and those who have made the greatest sacrifice giving their lives for their country, you, and me. I, myself, was a few weeks from deployment to Vietnam when I was in a head on vehicle collision and broke my leg is several places, thefore was not sent. My brother however , Bernard Franklin Allan USAF, was deployed. His job was a radio operator and he did survive the war and came home. My brother, who was a few years younger than me, died 10 years after the end of the war from agent orange cancer. I miss him . I'm certain that many others feel the same and that we will never forget the sacrifice, honor, and courage that have been displayed then, now, and even before that time in wars past by our brave men and women in the services. Thank you again VETERANS , we love you , we look up to you, and we miss you.

Average age of Americans KIA in Vietnam
. . Contributed By Thomas J. Prendergast On Monday, May 26, 2003
With the conclusion of Memorial Day 2003, and my belief that the Vietnam War Memorial in D.C. is the most moving visual memorial I have ever visited, the thought crossed my mind about what the average age of Americans killed in Vietnam during the conflict was. Can anyone provide that information with fair accuracy? Since we almost always use the word "young" when referring to our war dead, I am wondering, in the case of Vietnam, just how young were our soldiers.
