Information on getting name up on wall
. . Contributed By ami poveda On Friday, September 19, 2003
I came here a few months ago looking for info on how to get my father in laws name on the vietnam wall. thanks to a computer virus.I lost all the info i had. I know that he isn't eligible because he died from agent orange (cancer) and not directly in combat. I need a p.o.c however, to see if there is anything i can do to try to get his name up anyway. I was given the name of JAN SCRUGGS as a p.o.c.but I wasn't given a phone number or address. ANY help I can get will be appreciated.this is like the most impossible thing i have ever tried to do and it shouldn't be. All those who served, regardless of if they died in action or due to an illness caused in Vietnam should be honered with their name on the wall. My father in laws name was Capt. Carlos Poveda, served in Vietnam for 1/2 the year in 68 (have to look up dates) and from Aug. 70-Aug 71. He was in the Army.If anyone has information on him, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you.

AUGUSTINE RESENDEZ, LCPL, USMC
. . Contributed By Gilbert "Gibo" Resendez On Friday, September 19, 2003
I'm sending out this thank you note to Ed "Dunny" Bowels for leaving a message in the "Vietnam Veterans Memorial" page to Augustine "Tino" Resendez, LCPL,USMC. It reads, "I still remember when we were kids as if it was yesterday. I think of you often. You may not be here in body, but you are not the forgotten. I just wanted to say Hello!", Thurday, July 01, 1999. Dunny and Tino grew up together and were good friends. Well, now 36 years later a friend of Tino (Jacob Fedler) who served with him in Viet Nam saw and read Dunnys message. Jacob Fedler witnessed Tino's death on 27 April 1967, in Quang Tri, South Vietnam and has contacted me. My name is, Gilbert Resendez, Tino's younger brother. My family and I will finally get to hear the real truth about how it all happened. God Bless all the Vietnam Veterans who served and specially those who lost their life's for our Freedom! Again a special thanks to Dunny! God Bless the USA.
