Veterans Day November 11th
. . Contributed By Terry Boone On Saturday, November 08, 2003
This Veteran's day on PBS, there will be a documentary called "Be good, Smile Pretty" about the search of a daughter whose father was killed in Vietnam when she was three months old and her effort to find out everything about her father. 58 thousand plus lost their lives in Vietnam and so did 20,000 plus children lose one of their parents in that war. My prayers got out not only to the men and women that died in VN, but to their kids and families that live with that pain today and not ever knowing them.

Yesterday, 11 NOV 03, was a special day for vets of all wars. Those who us who survived the hell of war, have taken the time to honor those who gave their lives for us. I would like to take this time to say a few words to two units: first, the 1st CAV (AMBL) those who were inovlved in the bloodies battle of Vietnam: the Ia Drang. I was fortunate I was fortunate to ahve been attacked for a short time to the 5th regiment of the 1st CAV in '68. C/1/501/101ST AIRBORNE DIV: Miss all those who did not make it back to "The World." May they all rest easy, and a salute to those who are here to say thank you to a nation that finally understands what the Vietnam vet went through when he came home."HAND SALUTE,TAPS".

Proud To Know My Uncle
. . Contributed By Tracy Magee On Wednesday, November 12, 2003
His name was Mike Magee. He was a Vietnam Vet who recieved a purple heart for being a Hero. He was so Proud to be an American, he wanted to go fight in Iraq. He was a great, strong man when cancer got him on April 23, 2003. I learned from him how important it is to be a proud American. I learned after he passed away that he was a hero to Americans and he was awarded for it, yet never really told anyone. I knew he was a Hero of mine for who he was, i just never realized that he was a Hero to All the American people as well. What a great gift to share! I know i miss him and love him and wish i could put his name on the wall with the rest of the Heros. Niece of Michael S. Magee

I am trying to contact anyone who was in his unit or knew him from Vietnam. Daniel was in "Mike" company of the 3rd Battalion of the 7th Marines. I organized to have a memorial bench placed at the Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial in his name. There will be a ceremony and dedication in April of 2004. If anyone is in the area and would like to come or speak on Daniel's behalf please contact me and let me know.

A Soldiers Silence Can Be Louder Than His Scream
. . Contributed By Carmen Champion On Tuesday, November 18, 2003
My name is Carmen and I am the oldest daughter of Craig Champion who was in the Army and also served in Vietnam War. I just want to say to my Dad how much I do Love Him and that he is "The Hero to all of his children, even his 1st grandchild that will be here in April thinks so too!" I can tell you this about my Father,He might not say much but when he does, you better write it down cause it has inspirational meaning and makes up for all the unspoken times. My personal opinion I have about my Dad .My Dads heart is filled with so much love and so many good memories of his Family and Friends that sometimes it causes his heart to become so heavy he just cant speak. I undertand that feeling too! Sometimes "Nothing Said" is better than "Something Said" Straight From My Heart To Yours.Happy Holidays To Everyone (smile)
