Note of Caution . . Contributed By Jim Rocha On Sunday, February 27, 2000 This Wall page is a beautiful work and a moving tribute to all of us who served in Vietnam, those that didn't survive, and the families who lost their loved ones. However, a note of caution. In recent years there has been an increasing number of Vietnam Vet "phonies" who never served in Vietnam or sometimes, never saw military service at all. These lowlives sometimes stoop to unbelievable lows like altering DD-214s to show awards for valor (including MOHs)that never earned nor do they deserve. Others like to portray themselves as SEALs or other elite groups. Some of these folks actually hang out at the real Wall in Washington, D.C. This is a sad indictment of our society and a slap in the face to the names on this Wall and to all of us who served. It is also degrading to the families who lost loved ones. So please be aware. We've all suffered enough pain over the years without having one of these phonies add to it.
