Accidental casualty -- Aug 1967
. . Contributed By Cindy Fontenot Patterson On Friday, April 28, 2000
My brother Gary Fontenot was killed 12 Aug 1967. It was an accidental shooting by another US Marine during a split ambush (vicinity of DaNang). I wish there was some way to let the person who shot him know that our hearts go out to him -- he has been on our minds since day 1 and we pray that he has not suffered. We understand how it was there -- I am sorry that you had to be the one ---- may Gid bless you and keep you under his care.

Dear Brother, It seems the Politians would not let you guys fight the war and win it as you could of. People of this Great Country have been divided for many years, as the protesters continue move futhur to the left. Members who want to know you, should go to the "Jesse James Farm & Museum" located at 21216 Jesse James Farm Road, Kearney, Missouri 64060 to see the Great-Great-Grandson of the Outlaw Frank James. Frank James would be very proud of you dear Soldier, for serving his country and giving to most of one's self. Take care brother with love.

25 years
. . Contributed By Cpl.Harton USMC Ret. On Friday, April 28, 2000
I was watching the "New"s Media today and they reminded everyone that the VietNam War had been over now for 25 years. Many of us know that all too well. My question to them who say we lost the war is "Where were you" in 1967 and all the other years during that "War", when men bled, and Mothers, daughters, brothers, and sisters, and "buddies" cried. I never saw a CNN,ABC,CBS,NBC, or any other "Reporter" there when I was there. The did their little 5min report then went back to Saigon and partied. We don't need the Media reminding us of anything. God Bless the Families who were lost their loved ones.

THE VIETNAM WAR
. . Contributed By Ray Harton On Sunday, April 30, 2000
It is so inspiring to come back to this wonderful site. I would invite everyone who was a part of this War, servicemen and women, families and friends of all these "hero's" who's names are etched in Black Marble, to continue to tell the real story of that terrible time and place in our History. Here is where the truth is, in every message, every tear, every heartache that stays with us every-day, not just some anniversy that is a fill-in for some news broadcast. We, as participants, you as survivors, family members of the dead, need not be reminded by any media, political group, or administration filled with phoney memorials, to remind us of the sacrifices of the young men and women in the "VIETNAM WAR". If they want to find the truth, they need to read this board daily. God Bless. Cpl.Harton, USMC Ret. Vitnam Vet. 1967
