WORDS OF COMFORT AND HOPE . . Contributed By Jacquelyne On Sunday, May 08, 2005 Recently Ive just come to know about the War IN Vietnam, and my heart goes out to all who lost loved one so many years ago. The bible says that God is going to put an end to war very soon. Revelation 21:3,4 gives us the wonderful hope that death pain, morning outcry will be no more. The former things have passed away.Anyone who reads this message, please know this very true. Isaiah 55:11 says whatever goes forth from God's mouth will certainly prove to have results. HE cannot lie. Men Do But Jehovah doesnt. Take care and many prayers are with you.
The second coming of Vietnam. . . Contributed By William S. Crum--Republic of Vietnam 1970-1971 On Monday, May 09, 2005 It has been thirty years and still we(our country) haven't learned anything. While it is nice to be the guardian of the world, we just can't sacifice our men and women to do this. To all my brothers and sisters, I give my love and thank you for doing what you could but I say to the Commander-in-chief: bring our people home. I encourage all my brothers and sisters of the vietnam era to write your congress and the white house to express your thoughts.

Reunion of 1st Battalion, 5th Marines . . Contributed By Gerry Regan On Saturday, May 14, 2005 I've had some good friends since I returned from the Nam but the best buddies I've ever had were those I knew in combat. We lived together 24/7 and got to know each other so well, our friendships were incomparable. We shared our experiences and our emotions in Vietnam, always extraordinary, at times so terrible and difficult. I didn't hear from anybody for 30 years and yet, when we meet at the annual reunion, I knew these guys so well, I know who is going to do and say what, even their gestures haven't changed. They were born to chase after girls, not an enemy, but they bore the burden of our country's call to arms. Our reunions were earned long ago and are long overdue. We started with 4 guys meeting in 1997 and now we have 1500 former marines who served in Vietnam from 1965-71 on our 1/5 mailing list. When we meet at our 1/5 annual reunion, it is a celebration of life. Ain't nothing like it! On August 3-7, 2005, we meet again at the Marriott Downtown in Kansas City, Mo. I can't wait to see my buddies again. It is not only a most enjoyable time, for me, I'm with guys who know what we went through and there is healing going on.
Christopher Herderick . . Contributed By Richard Counts On Monday, May 16, 2005 A neighborhood man, Christopher Herderick from Columbus, Ohio, was killed in the Vietnam war conflict. Our neighborhood was devistated and the streek where he (we) grew up was re-named in his honor. A monument and an American flag was also placed at the end of the street. This past weekend, the replica of the wall was at a Harley Davidson dealership in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. I was unable to locate Chris' name anywhere on the wall or on any wall related websites. Is there criteria for a soldier's name to be placed on the wall? Thank you to all the veterans who served and may God be with you always.
