I want to thank all of the Veterns of every war for their sacrifices that they made for keeping our country free. Especially for those who paid the Supreme Price for our freedom. Let us all say a prayer for all Veterns today and everyday, and for especially for those who did not return to enjoy our country and this Memorial Day. I salute all of you. EVEN MARINES CRY!
. . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Sunday, May 28, 2000
Again I've been brought to tears by watching the Memorial Day Concert. When I hear Charles Derning read what he and other Combat Veterans have gone through. It brings me back there as all wars are the same, only where they died is different. I sometimes wish I could make all those who never seem to get the horror of war and what was it's cost or even care too. Tomorrow I will go to my local service done in my town and hope I can make them take home some of those feelings away with them. No man should ever have to go through what we as Combat Veterans have had to.If my prayers are for anything it's just that our sons and theirs never have to. I ask God to help those of us who will always carry the scars, both on our bodies and in our minds. God bless all as I continue to cry. Chaplain Howard Flexer
