Angel . . Contributed By Mike Murray On Monday, May 29, 2000 I am looking for relatives of Donald John Turner (34W/54). I was with him his last in Vietnam and would like to tell his family my remembrances of a good friend and Marine. We called him "Angel" because he'd ridden with the Hell's Angels. He was with the Combined Action Program (CAP) Unit 3-2-5 and carried the "blooper." I've never forgotten him for a number of reasons. If there was to be a "Magnificent Seven" made-up of Vietnam soldiers, he'd be the one with the M79; and he was growing in his understanding of the Vietnamese culuture and people. "Semper Fi," Angel.

Does Anyone Hear These Pleas? . . Contributed By Sherry Montgomery On Wednesday, May 31, 2000 I sit here crying.tears streaming down my face as I read entry after entry on these pages. Children begging for information about fathers they didn't know or barely knew. Wives, mothers, fathers, nieces, nephews, old friends, fellow soldiers.all aching for any scrap of news.any memory that someone else might hold of their loved one. It breaks my heart. And I have to wonder, do our country's leaders hear these pleas? Do they come to this site and cry as I do? Do they care? Do they sleep at night? Have they forgotten? I think that is what scares me the most.that they may have forgotten. So although I do not have a personal loss connected with Vietnam.I, as an American citizen, accept responsibility for the actions of our country's leaders. And I hang my head in shame, for those leaders too stupid to hang their own. I do not want America to ever forget the travesty of Vietnam, lest we repeat history. For you see, I have a father and a brother that, by the Grace of God were not called to Vietnam, but could have been. It could be me on these pages searching for the wartime friends of my loved ones. And I have sons that would proudly serve their country now, as so many of you all did then.and the words I read here could be mine, on some future website, about some future war. I come to this website to give my support and prayers to those that need them. I just want you all to know.you (the soldiers, the families, the friends) are not forgotten. The price paid by each of you has been immeasurable. God bless you all.and WELCOME HOME to all that served.
