I will always remember and never forget
. . Contributed By Christina Parker On Sunday, May 12, 2002
I would like to thank all the brave and loving men who fought in Vietnam for our country. As I browse through this site I become very emotional because I realize all the people who had died for our country. All the pain and suffering all those families who lost a loved one must of felt. I know thank you is only words and I may not completely understand the whole picture but I do remember and will never forget what happened in Vietnam. My heart is with all of you.

Memorial Message
. . Contributed By Jack C. Perritt On Monday, May 13, 2002
Recently this year I had the opportunity to meet my new granddaughter. Cradling her in my arms and studying her tiny face, I observed that her large, dark eyes starred back at me with some sort of expectation. Leaning down I kissed her forehead and when I looked back her, she rewarded me with a smile. As I continued to hold her I thought, "This is a moment that completes a man's life." I reminded myself how lucky I am, how good fortune and God's love has blessed me in so many innumerable ways. I am also fortunate to be an American, and to have served my country honorably in the military even though it was a time of great divisiveness, extraordinary sadness, and bitter warfare. The mere whisper of Vietnam, is like a reverent prayer to me. I have been to Arlington National Cemetery and the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC. It is a haunting reminder of the fateful cut of war and the price so dearly paid by men, and women who served this nation during times of conflict. Their youthfulness deserved every chance to explore the wonders of life's possibilities. Shattering violence ended those dreams and we cannot forget the courage, or devotion to duty which they met their untimely ends. How do we measure what they have done for us? By what standard and degree do we pay our debt to them? Imagine, none will ever hold a grandchild in their arms. Perhaps the greatest tribute we can possibly pay to these gallant individuals is never forgetting, never forgetting. The next time I hold my tiny grandaughter and see her smiling face, I will again give thanks to my Heavenly Father and never forget the heart touching sacrifices made by the uniformed heroes of our country. Jack C. Perritt USMC - RVN 68/69
