WALTER C. MAYER , correction of statement i made . . Contributed By Marilyn On Wednesday, July 17, 2002 I NEED TO MAKE A CORRECTION THAT WAS POINTED OUT TO ME, I called Viet Nam a police action, and i am sorry that i have offended some by saying that. I should have said WAR, because it was was. I was being sarcastic, but i guess it didn't come out that way. I am very sorry. I realize , that i can only imagine the terror, and horror my cousin , and brother, and all of the our boys there went through. Please know that i am sorry, i apologize to anyone i offended. WAR is also not the word, in my opinion, there is no word for how the Vietnamese fought, sneaky, dirty, unimaginable ways of doing things. I know it had to be hard for Americans, who would never even think to act in the ways those "people" did. How could they stand a chance aginst such viciousness? I am sorry, please excuse my ignornace.

You will never be forgotten . . Contributed By Someone who won't forget! On Saturday, July 20, 2002 I am Canadian and of a generation that did not experience the turmoil of the 60's or the Vietnam War. Everything I have learned has come from movies, books and television, much of which has glorified the reasons for the Vietnam War. I look at young people today and I know they don't think about the soldiers who bravely fought for freedom, sacrificing thier lives so we can enjoy our own. I want all Vietnam vets and the family's of those fallen to know the efforts of those who fought will never be forgotten. Please don't stop telling your stories because we can never be allowed to forget. Every generation from now until eternity must know of the horrors of the Vietnam War and of the brave men and women who gave their lives for freedom.
My brother was in Nam and has never been the same, . . Contributed By Bev Hilterbrick On Saturday, July 20, 2002 Nothing to Lose I have nothing in this life to show where I've been Nothing that proves all the things that I've seen So do you believe the things that I have to say Or do you just choose to walk away I can't go back and rewrite history Sad to say that it's my story I was never covered in glory Seems to me it was more gory Do you ever want to challenge the things they refute Or will the code of silence apply here too I have nothing in this life that I can loose So why would I speak of things that aren't true I can't change a thing that was done History should be remembered by someone When there are so many who cannot speak Someone should stand up for the weak How many times do we have to hear That all the POW's are now so near Yet we all know that isn't the truth We need to speak out for the dead and our youthààà BAH 21 Jul 2002
