My Memories Of Vietnam
. . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Sunday, July 21, 2002
My Memories of Vietnam Most of my thoughts were written in the wee hours of a morning after I found myself back there in my mind. I guess most of my early years back when I returned from Nam were spent enjoying my safe return. I've never forgot those who never got that chance' so even the bad times felt good. I'm sure that those who were there or for that fact any War knows that feeling. Always thinking "Why Me?" That "Why Me" never goes away when I think of fellow MARINES next to me that never made it. "He stopped remembering Vietnam today. They placed a flag on his casket". Those words tell it all, as to always remembering. Schlottman, James E. US Army -Cmp A, 1st Bt
. . Contributed By Stacey Wallis On Sunday, July 21, 2002
My uncle was killed in South Vietnam, Binh Dinh on August 22, 1967. His death occured when a hostile booby trap was detonated. My only chance to get to know my uncle will be from any of his friends that he served with. If you served with Jim I would love to hear more about him and the kind of person he was. This is a void that I have had in my life since I was old enough to understand what had happened to him.
