Naval Gun Fire School - Subic Bay 1976
. . Contributed By Rick McCoy On Friday, August 02, 2002
I am looking for anyone who served in this school and can verify that there were gun ships qualifying in and around Subic Bay in 1976. I need information on the incident that involved a misfire during radar beacon exercise leaving SGT R. N. McCoy and caused him ear damage. The Radio Operator was CPL Reitzel and the Phillipine Constabulary on the OP where LT Walsh and CPL Scroggins were all there. If possible, does anyone remember the name of the ship that was qualifying that day or any other information you might have. Please e-mail me at twobears@getgoin.net Thanks Rick McCoy

There is a program for VN veterans who were exposed to the herbicide Agent Orange and have since become a Type II Diabetic. You may be eligible for disability payments after 30+ years. Check with your local Vet Center or Veteran's Affairs Center.

Looking for anyone who knew my dad Jesus Vasquez. He serverd from 67-69 1st Bn, 1st Marines "C" Company. 3rd Plt., 2nd SEC. He died May 31, 2002. His kids would love to hear from anyone who knew him back then. I have some photos from Vietnam that he brought back and would like to know who the young men are. My father was very proud of being a Marine. He lost so many "brohters", Jose Salazar, Bradswell, Byrd, Hanson and I know there are more. He would always talk about them and often wondered why he made it back without them. My father, and everyone who served our country are my heros. I love and miss you dad. I would give anything to hear you say "ALERT ALIVE" to me one more time. Love you dad, Ana Vasquez

Colonel, I've worn your bracelet, along with three others, for over 25 years. I was in-country the year you were shot down with a Marine rifle company. I will be forever grateful for the guidance you've given me since back in the 70's. I'll see ya later!
