Reading the Names on our WALL . . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Friday, November 08, 2002 Names on our WALL I think my name could have been also read. I hurts to keep thinking WHY ME. I am no better than those who are on our WALL. I have tried and will till I'm called home to let them know I can make a difference. That question of WHY ME? Perhaps will never be answered. If there is even an answer? As we MARINES celebrate our 227th birthday I remember back to the one I celebrated in the sands of Chu Lai back in 65. It was a short break from the fighting to step back and remember all who went before us. I advise others to try to not beat yourselves up on that question, when in fact it takes a punch at me quite often. Just try to make every day count. They are all extra & special. Be proud of those who fought with you and most of all be proud of your self. Semper Fi! With God, Then&Now Chaplain
