Reading the Names on our WALL

Names on our WALL I think my name could have been also read. I hurts to keep thinking WHY ME. I am no better than those who are on our WALL. I have tried and will till I'm called home to let them know I can make a difference. That question of WHY ME? Perhaps will never be answered. If there is even an answer? As we MARINES celebrate our 227th birthday I remember back to the one I celebrated in the sands of Chu Lai back in 65. It was a short break from the fighting to step back and remember all who went before us. I advise others to try to not beat yourselves up on that question, when in fact it takes a punch at me quite often. Just try to make every day count. They are all extra & special. Did you know Joel Fuller? He was my uncle. He was killed in November 1966 and was buried four days before I was born. He was from Bogue Chitto, Mississippi. I am just curious.

I am searching for anyone who may have known Richard Saulers Bowers, he went by Dick for short. Especially interested in speaking with John E Kolbeck Jr. or Jackie Thomas. Dick was part of the 864th Engr Bn Co D and served at Whiskey Mt. If you were in the area or knew him I am very interested any information regarding his death or the area where he died. He was KIA March 1, 1971. He was my uncle and I am trying to research the events that occurred near the time of his death.
