I'm sure the family or he would like to have these letters. He was in Co. A 93rd Batt. Engineer ( Construction) One letter is dated 7/9/1968 from Nam. The other letter is from Missouri where he got some training. His name is not listed on the Wall. Any help would be appreciated.
FREEDOM . . Contributed By Denny Cothern On Tuesday, November 12, 2002 As I read the guest book and the messages on the message board, I weep @ the hurts and the heart aches that are created by war.I hear the cries of precious mothers, children and others @ the loss of their precious loved ones. Those who gave their precious lives that you and I might enjoy the freedom we enjoy today. Many gallons of blood was lost on the foreign lands of the world to keep us free. I too served in the U S Army, in the 1st Inf. Divi. in the 7th Inf. Divf in Korea, and also the 7th Inf. Divi as a machine gunner. But, as I read of the many loss of lives, I am made to remember ,that America still isnt free. She is held captive, not by some enemy soldiers, but, by an invisable enemy, who is known as the devil. And, I recall the blood that was shed over 2 thousand years ago to make us free. Many are walking around today who arent really free, and the only way to be free is by the precious bloss of Jesus Christ. The bible tells us in Galatians 5:1: "STAND FAST THEREFORE IN THE LIBERTY WHEREWITH CHRIST HAS MADE US FREE." Please, do not think I am trying to take away from anyone whos served, but, in the mist , please, let thank Jesus Christ, the One who will make us FREE INDEED. Thank you. Denny Cothern
In Remembrance . . Contributed By Jennifer On Tuesday, November 12, 2002 My family served in World War II, women and men in American and British services. Others in my family served in subsequent wars.including Vietnam. One's lives in my heart, along with others I knew.and his name is on this wall. This is a writing from WW2: "They still march but their footsteps make no sound.they still serve but do not answer when their name is called.they shall not grow old.as we that are left grow old.age shall not weary them nor the years condemn them.at the going down of the sun and in the morning.WE SHALL REMEMBER.' To which I add, every day, I remember.why would I forget. In love and peace.

Several years ago his daughter Paige Palmer was searching for his bracelet. Gilbert was my cousin and I'd like to locate Paige. Her request is still posted, but the e-mail address is no longer valid.
