Off to Veterans Hospital for their Christmas Party
. . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Sunday, December 15, 2002
Again It's that time of year. I've collect many gifts for our Veterans. I love doing this to see the look on their faces as we give them things to show even they were not forgotten. We sing carols. those that can make it down to the party play BINGO and all win. we break up into groups to go to the wards to visit each Veterans. We give them gifts and one of our USO girls join us in song. I have to hold back my tears as some cry because of what we do. As I leave that evening I hurt because I want to take them all home with me. I also know that in the long run they know their fellow Veterans will always remember them. So they are never alone. God Bless all of them in every state. If anyone out there gets a chance to visit a VA hospital please do. It may be a little thing, but it means alot to them. Semper Fi! With God, T&N Chaplain Flexer
