In 1969 on a bus to Camp Pendleton,CA to see my fiance I met a young Marine named Odell Norton. He was on his way to Viet Nam and asked if I would write to him there.I did and he responded.Then, after a while, no more letters came from him.I have always wondered what happened to him!He was from Fresno,Calif. Does anyone out there have any information on what happened to him? I would appreciate ANY information you may provide. Thanks

MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED HIS PARENTS HOME PLACE AND WE WERE LOOKING THROUGH A OLD BUILDING AND FOUND A DOG TAG AND SOME PINS FROM TH EWAR. HE NEW THAT HE HAD AN UNCLE TO DIE IN THIS WAR BUT THE DOG TAG WAS FOR JOHN R HANUSCIN. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF HE WAS KILLED IN THIS WAR ALSO. AND IF HE HAS FAMILY THAT STILL EXSIST. WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW IF HE WAS A FRIEND OF MY HUSBAND'S UNCLE.

I looking for anyone who may have been with Jim when he died. March 20, 1970, he was at a fire base, when it came under attack, I know he had used his body for a shield and successfully saved one solider when he went back for another he was hit and died. Jim received the Silver Star.
