I was wondering if anyone knew my uncle? My dad was in 5th grade when he died and didn't really know him and I was wondering what he was like. I don't really know his rank or anything but I think he was a PFC and I know it probably won't be easy to find people that knew him. When I get more information about him I will write an entry on here again. I'm in the 9th grade and would love to learn about him. I am also studying the vietnam war and was wondering if any survivors or spouses of those who didn't make it could maybe tell me a little about what happened or how they felt. If you could please help me out with any of these two thing I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much- Stephanie

Death of Charles B. Shannon
. . Contributed By Randy Hyde On Monday, February 17, 2003
Charles died on 2/4/03, his funeral was on 2/10/03. Charles served in the USN, 1970-1973, aboard the USS Constellation in VietNam. Charles always had time for any one. He was the District Executive Director of the Southern Region YMCA in San Antonio. Charles was the man to call to get anything done on the east side of San Antonio. Charles was a champion for youth and families. He is sorely missed and is a great loss to the community. I agree with a statement in his eulogy, "most of us will never be the man that Charles was." He is buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetary. RIP brother.
