Appreciation to all Vets & Familys
. . Contributed By Walter Hyde On Thursday, June 12, 2003
From someone who knows a little about what some of the vets goes through. And also the families. I am a Vietnam Vet. I was with the 84th engineer batallion company C in 1968 and 1969. Even though I was an engineer we worked with the marines airforce and anyone who needed us. And yes the engineers do get shot at. And pulled guard duty every other night. When we wasnt on guard we were usually on allert and in the bunkers anyway. We had fuel tanks behind us which after the fourth time they were hit they melted to the ground. And almost burned us out. We had snipers shooting at us regular. We had an ammo dump a little ways from our company. and it was blown up 3 times. But the worse thing for me is having a brother killed in nam in 1966. He was also a best friend. Why did we not get to finish the job. Political I guess.Anyway hello and good luck Vets, and thanks. And Thanks to the people who appreciate and think of the Vets. And could also use a penpal. My email address is wwhyde68@hotmail.com Again thanks.
