Anyone who knew, Paul Raymond Hanger Jr. . . Contributed By Michelle Zwaagstra On Sunday, June 15, 2003 I am looking for anyone who knew my father, Paul Raymond Hanger Jr. I was in 4/9th Manchu's, and was initially assigned to the 25th Inf. He was from Galesburg, Ill. and at the time of Vietnam he was married and had two duaghters. He is still living. We are tying to file a claim with the VA, and the VA told us that my father needed to prove that he had a stressor while he was in the Army. I thought just being, seeing and doing what the soldiers did in Vietnam was enough. I guess not. It would be much appreciated if anyone out there was able to help. Thank you
Items left at the wall . . Contributed By Dan Springborn On Sunday, June 15, 2003 Fantastic web site I have been following it for over a year now.I was wondering about the items left at the wall. I would love to see the different things left there, but don't know where to look. Also I have a poem you put on your leterary section. I also left a copy of the poem at the wall last August. It was on a single sheet of paper titled "Friends Forever" I donot know if it made it through the day or if the wind blew it away or someone might have taken it. I also left other articles at the wall How else would I be able to find out about this. My wife is coming to DC for a DC/LA youth rally in July and she would bring another copy if we knew the first one did not survive. I am a vetnam vet and that meant alot to me to visit the wall and reflect on lives that were lost in that war. I do have four buddies on the wall and i think of them daily. Thank you for your time and faithfulness to all the vets. If you can be of help it would be appreceiated if not thank you anyways. To Dads no longer with us: "Today I visited my Fat . . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Sunday, June 15, 2003 "Today I Visited My Father" Today I visited my Dad. As I approached were he is my tears started to flow. I think of the way He left me. I think of all the Fathers who get a visit today. On a Long Black Wall or in their final resting places. They're with so many dads from all over this great land. They never got to see us grow up. Never got to drive the car still waiting for him in our driveway. I remember when he helped me ride a bike. Kissed my knee when I scraped it. Pushed me on a swing. How to catch a fly ball right. So many things that still make me smile even now. Then I think of things he missed. Like being the Queen in a class play. Never hearing him tell my first date to make sure he treated me right and be home on time. Never got to watch my little league game. What my dad might have done could fill a book. So as these tears flow I want you to know that I will always love you for what you did do. Always love you for what might have been. In the end you're my Dad, that's all I need to know. I miss you and hope I turn out just like you. I'm leaving now and taking your spirit with me. HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD! LOVE YOUR SON or DAUGTHER Chaplain Howard Flexer June 15, 2003

Billy was a brave soldier who spent years in the Rangers. I reunited with him in Korea in 1959 and in 1963 in Germany. He was devoted to his family and country. He loved the Army. He was killed in action while engaging the enemy in 1967. He is the pride of Cumming, Georgia.
