Thank You Lonnie
. . Contributed By Brenda Underwood On Tuesday, November 11, 2003
My brother, Lonnie Floyd, was KIA 1-14-67 in Viet Nam. He served with the 173RD ABN and was only 19 years old when he gave his life for our country. My mother lost a son and my brothers and sister lost a brother. Our lives were never the same. We are proud of Lonnie and will always love him and miss him so much. America gave up too many of her sons, brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers. We should be forever greatful.

May they all rest easy, and a salute to those who are here to say thank you to a nation that finally understands what the Vietnam vet went through when he came home."HAND SALUTE,TAPS".

A Favorite Uncle
. . Contributed By Janice M Seidel - Colorado On Wednesday, November 12, 2003
In 1988 my uncle Clyde was diaginosed with a brain tumor, the tumor started to grow at the site of an injury he received in the war. Clyde did a few great things in the war and received several medals for his efforts. Since Clyde dided after the war he is not able to get his name placed on the wall. If it were not for the injury he received in the war he would still be here today. I am now placing his name, the best way I know how, on "The Wall". My uncle the youngest of 12 children: CLYDE B. PATTERSON Talladega, Alabama Died: September 1989 A Monkeys Uncle

Proud To Know My Uncle
. . Contributed By Tracy Magee On Wednesday, November 12, 2003
His name was Mike Magee. He was a Vietnam Vet who recieved a purple heart for being a Hero. He was so Proud to be an American, he wanted to go fight in Iraq. He was a great, strong man when cancer got him on April 23, 2003. I learned from him how important it is to be a proud American. I learned after he passed away that he was a hero to Americans and he was awarded for it, yet never really told anyone. I knew he was a Hero of mine for who he was, i just never realized that he was a Hero to All the American people as well. What a great gift to share! I know i miss him and love him and wish i could put his name on the wall with the rest of the Heros. Niece of Michael S. Magee

I am trying to contact anyone who was in his unit or knew him from Vietnam. Daniel was in "Mike" company of the 3rd Battalion of the 7th Marines. I organized to have a memorial bench placed at the Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial in his name. There will be a ceremony and dedication in April of 2004. If anyone is in the area and would like to come or speak on Daniel's behalf please contact me and let me know.
