A Soldiers Silence Can Be Louder Than His Scream
. . Contributed By Carmen Champion On Tuesday, November 18, 2003
My name is Carmen and I am the oldest daughter of Craig Champion who was in the Army and also served in Vietnam War. I just want to say to my Dad how much I do Love Him and that he is "The Hero to all of his children, even his 1st grandchild that will be here in April thinks so too!" I can tell you this about my Father,He might not say much but when he does, you better write it down cause it has inspirational meaning and makes up for all the unspoken times. My personal opinion I have about my Dad .My Dads heart is filled with so much love and so many good memories of his Family and Friends that sometimes it causes his heart to become so heavy he just cant speak. I undertand that feeling too! Sometimes "Nothing Said" is better than "Something Said" Straight From My Heart To Yours.Happy Holidays To Everyone (smile)

Keith Welsh, James Agnew
. . Contributed By Joan Baysinger On Wednesday, November 19, 2003
On Sept 29, 2003 we lost one of the bravest men there was, Keith Welsh. He was with my cousin James Agnew the night Jim was killed. According to one of the men who served with Keith and Jim "Three of the 4 men in the LP were wounded as soon as the rockets and/or mortars started to hit. Aggie (Jim)) was hit really badly and he told Keith to take the others back to the line while he tried to hold the enemy off, which Keith did. Welsh made one more trip back to the LP to try and save the last WIA. This man was his best friend, SP4 Agnew. When Welsh got back to the LP, he found that his friend had finally succumbed to his wounds and was dead. The actions of Keith Welsh on the night of 3 April 1969 reflect great courage and personal responsibility of a true warrior leader. Time and again, Welsh crossed the perimeter in the middle of a fight, to save his wounded comrades, without regard to his personal safety. At the same time, he was helping to inflict numerous casualties on the enemy." These were some of the words used in recommeding Keith for a CMH, however he died before it was ever made possible. There will be a memorial service for Keith at Arlington National Cemetery His ashes will be buried on November 25, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. I never got to meet Keith but if anyone is able to attend this ceremony would they please PLEASE give his wife Becky my sympathy for the lost of this wonderful, brave man!
