Brothers and VETERANS of Three Wars
. . Contributed By Errol "PAIGE" Lanier On Saturday, December 13, 2003
I am one of 12 kids my father and mother raised. There were 8 boys. 2 served in WWII 2 served in Korea and 2 served in VN. I served in VN. I have been to the wall twice. It was a geat honor to have one brother from WWII for the first visit and one of the Korea war vet. brothers for the 2nd. visit. Both WWII VET brothers are now deceased, one Korean war vet is deceased. I served in VN. in 1966-67 with the 3rd Bde. 4th and 25th Inf. 2/77th Field Arty. The wall has a great healing effect on everyone. My 2 brothers who visited the wall with me were as humbled as I was. I have a number of friends who are listed on the wall. I can only hope they will never be forgotten. I am a charter member of VFW Post 9669 in Colo. Spgs. Co.

A Tribute to the Forgotten Heros
. . Contributed By Michael Gracon On Tuesday, December 16, 2003
For those who answered the call and did their duty let us never forget you. "God, Duty, Country" will never be forgotten. I wear my dad's military uniform from Vietnam as a tribute to those who died, were missing in action, or severely injured. You served your country and the bravery and courage will never be forgotten. Let us never forget those who have died during Vietnam and what they did. In my eyes you are all heros and I have nothing but love and respect for we are all brothers and sisters.

Did Anyone Know Mike Fields (or Mike Covert)?
. . Contributed By Gary W. Morrow On Tuesday, December 16, 2003
A dear friend of mine died in Viet Nam back in the early seventies. His name was Charles Michael Covert (or Charles Michael Fields, depending on whether he used his mother's maiden name or the last name of his father). He graduated from Dublin High School in Dublin, Ohio back in 1968 and I believe he was in the US Army rather than the marines, but it has been so long, I can't recall. I do know that he was on a helicopter (pilot?) and was shot down during a second or third tour of duty in Viet Nam back in 1971 or 1972. I visited the Viet Nam Memorial a few years ago and neither of his names was on the memorial. His name is not listed on any memorial roster for Ohio casualiteis of Viet Nam that I can find anywhere. I was one of only about ten people who attended his closed casket funeral in Worthington, Ohio over thirty years ago. I don't believe he had any siblings and I'm sure his mother is long since dead. I was very distressed to see that his name was missing from the memorial. How can I find out more about Mike and perhaps see to it that his name is included on the Viet Nam memorial? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as Mike was a wonderful, dedicated soldier and a kind, decent young man who seems to be all but forgotten by the rest of the world. I fear that once I am gone, his memory will lost forever. Thank you.

Badges of Honor - The warrior's Lament
. . Contributed By Michael Stephen Myers On Saturday, December 20, 2003
Brothers and sisters, I hope you will take just a few moments to research the web page www.warriorslament.com which is dedicated to our play, Badges of Honor - The Warriors Lament. This is a timely story that is based on our service to our country. There is a synopsis and the playwright's notes at the web page. We have performed this play to a selected audience with great reviews. We did a dramatic reading before the State Assembly of the Vietnam Veterans of America and have performed it professionally in front of the Lincoln Center in New York. And there is talk of our performing before the National Convention of the Vietnam Veterans of America in Reno this coming year. We could use any help and any venue that would be available to get this wonderful play off the ground. Have play - will travel, is our motto. We have often thought of having it presented as part of the traveling memorial wall. Sincerely, Michael Stephen Myers Ltmsm@cox.net
