Our next wall . . Contributed By David Meister On Saturday, April 10, 2004 We will be building a new wall soon. Our troops are again dying for another's freedom. Mr. President please don't let this war end like my war did. Give out troops what they need. Please don't cut them short. Everyday I am with them in their times of fear and uncertanty. I believe all the Nam Vets living are feeling the pain our troops a feeling today. If I could I would be there next to them. I am sure I can speak for my fellow vets, Nobody hates war more then those who have to fight them. Support them and make plans for our next Wall. These Vets deserve our love and recognition. They also will never be forgotten. |

Pvt. Richard or Robert. Strong . . Contributed By John E. Fine On Monday, April 12, 2004 My wife knew a young man here in Austin, TX about 1967 who was sent to Viet Nam only two weeks after they met. He died/was killed there 67-68, body brought home to San Antonio where his Step-father was retired Air Force. He was a pvt in the army. His home may not have been Texas, but he is not Richard Strong, Jr. from Washington State, for he was least 27 or 28 years old when killed. He was a very talented artist/painter well known to University of Texas faculty and had two children(recently divorced when he shipped out). His name is not on the wall. If anyone can solve this mystery, I and my wife would very much appreciate it. If he deserves to be on the wall.it should be added. |
