Did you know my Dad?
. . Contributed By Laurie On Wednesday, July 07, 2004
If anyone out there served with my father in Tay Ninh, please contact me. His name is Robert L. Starr, back then he probably went by "Bob" or "Bobby". He is still alive and has never really healed from this war. If there's anyone out there who might be able to make contact with him, I think it would help him so much. Thank you to all the Vets and to all those who currently serve. I can't express the gratitude.

if you can, include his company. i don't know your father, but someone could have been in his co. and not known it.tell him he's not alone.i do believe that those who bought or went to another country to get out of going, hurt worse than us that went.there's no stripe down my back.

Joe was just 18 the day the jeep he was driving hit a mine.We all aged a life time in the 30 minutes it took the dust off to get to us.Joe lost both legs and his right arm.Somehow he survived long enough to get back to the States. But Joe could not live with what he had become. He took his own life shortly after.May god show peace to all the Joe's of that terrible war.Joe's name belongs on the Wall.

EDMUND L. MACNEIL --- MY BROTHER
. . Contributed By Ellen MacNeil Campbell On Friday, July 09, 2004
A year has gone by since I found this website and asked if anyone remembered my wonderful brother. I have gotten alot of emails, encouragement and comfort. I was told of a wonderful webiste that I was able to get a KIA bracelet which has given me so much comfort and great pride. Nothing makes me happier than to have people ask me about it so I can tell them about Ed and every other Soldier. I make it a point to speak to elderly men wearing military ball caps, People wearing mis/Pow t-shirts or pins, ANYONE I see who I know has pain and pride in side them. I thank them for wearing whatever they have and not forgetting that other Wars have taken away loved ones. Ed was buried on my 18th birthday and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. My 13 year old daughter also wears a bracelet and loves to hear the funny stories how my brother teased me growing up. To this day I can't run the water facet in the bathroom if the toilet is flushing because of what he told me would happen (you do the math! eeeckk!) I will never stop missing him and ache for the families going through now what we've all gone through for over 30 years. Hope to hear from new friends, people who would like a bracelet, or just need to vent. To all the Vetrans out there and the families left behind, I am so proud of you and you are NOT forgotten! You are my HEROES! Let my brother's death live through you and go and conquer the world!
