We will all meet again in the best of circumstance
. . Contributed By Sharon Reynolds On Saturday, July 10, 2004
Whatever you may have thought of the fighting men, women or support personnel during the VietNam War, remember that those courageous people gave their lives for the freedom of their neighbors because they were asked to by a country they honored. Not only this, they returned to the World filled with people who preferred to mistreat their memory and those of the brothers and sisters who returned alive. Personally, my generation (I was born in October of 65) has learned from their bravery and mistakes and has profitted from it. I will see them all on streets paved with gold drinking from rivers of living water and say, "Thank you." Also a profound thanks to the VFW in their efforts to change this country's perception of the American fighting man. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." -John 15:13(KJV)

I was nine years old and have only two dozen memories of my Dad. If you knew him or anything about him or anything surrounding the circumstance of his death, please contact me. I want to learn more of who he was, what he was about, so I can someday tell my now seven year old daughter who has not grandfather, because he died fighting in a war, I still don't understand.

I have been searching for comrades of my brother who was killed Dec 3, 1966. He was in the 1st Infantry, 8th Battalion, 6th Artillery, B Battery. I have found 3 guys who knew my brother. Two good friends and the medic who went to his aid that day. Unfortunately, nothing could be done. A 155 Howitzer blew up before he could get the breech shut. I would still like to find more guys that remember him. My oldest brother has had his dog tag for 38 years and he gave it to me recently. I wear it with pride and sadness. I have read a book that tells stories of many people from all sides of the war. I cried. I had never thought about the land and the people that were destroyed. I find it hard to rationalize why my brother and so many, many others had to die, but I know he did it because he loved this country. He was called to service and he served with all he had. His comrades that I have talked to have said that he was a great soldier and a great guy. I wish I could have known him for longer than the 12 short years I had him for a big brother. If there is anyone else out there who knew him, please email or call. It has been a great blessing to talk to his fellow soldiers. After all these years, the medic was able to tell me that he did not suffer and that his sweet face was not harmed. I am so thankful that he called me. My heart aches for all who lost a loved one, for those who came back with injuries, and for those who still don't know where they are or what happened to their loved ones. That has to be an incredible pain. I can't even begin to imagine. Thanks for all your sacrifices, whether you be a veteran or a family. We still love them and will never forget them.

I am just looking for anyone that may have been with him in Quang Ngai. He was in the Marines and he died in the line of duty on April 7th 1968 at the age of 24, I was only 10 months old at the time. I have pics and things that my mom has saved for me, most of which was lost in a house fire a couple years ago, so I just am hoping that there is someone out there who knew him and can contact me! Thank you so much and God Bless all of you.
