2/502 101st Airborne Div. Alpha Company 1969-1970

I only came to this site a few days ago for the first time. I happened to see a request from Regina Williams regarding her late husband,Green E, Miller. Roy Larison,(from Kentucky)and myself are about the only ones left from first platoon. During the month of May 1970 we started out with 42 soldiers in 1st platoon. By the end of May we had 28WIA and 12KIA. As for Sgt Miller, he was killed along side of Ivory Lee Mc Kinney during a battle. He was never MIA in our eyes. My best wishes to all those whom lost someone in any battle of any war.

Just my first thoughts.on Veteran treatment .
. . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Wednesday, July 21, 2004
K.I.A. long after Vietnam Vietnam never goes away for those who were wounded when they were young. My government in its wisdom has killed us without the enemies help. Agent Orange has done a job on generations of those Veterans exposed to it. While how much it helped our men we will never know. We are learning how much it is now doing to us. Not only did we fight the enemy then, we now have to fight the powers that be. For years they have never agreed on what Agent Orange can and has done to those who gave some. Now those who did not give all then are now giving all. It hurts to see my fellow Veterans feel lucky for returning safely back then only to learn that they have been mortally wounded by our own. I deal with that reality as I try to comfort those who learn of that fact. While my time there I think I was never exposed to it that I know of. The point is I don't know? What also upsets me is how long it took them to admit it or even offer my fellow Veterans any help to them or their families who also suffer from that exposure. That was time lost for many to get help they needed and deserved! All those who think they know every reason for the Vietnam War or why it ever happened and have so much to say about it. I have walked in their shoes and call our war. "Vietnam the war that keeps on killing" My prayers are out to those who have lost a loved one and those who even now are losing them because of my country only caring for them when in Combat. My country is not living up to or willing to care for those who answered the call. In all Wars we are only important to do the fighting and then forgotten!
