Who Paid For The Vietnam Veterans Memorial
According to information provided by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, Inc. (VVMF). That organization raised nearly $9,000,000 entirely through private contributions from corporations, foundations, unions, veterans and civic organizations and more than 275,000 individual Americans. No federal funds were needed. This web site relies exclusively on your donations to meet operational expenses. Without your help we will not be able to continue this project. Please give whatever you can to help keep the memories alive. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law. Larry Hansen Bowen . . Contributed By Neil Wilson On Thursday, August 30, 2001 Want to get in touch with anyone who served/or knew Larry Hansen Bowen. Larry was killed by enemy mortar fire within two hours of reporting in to Delta 1/7, 1st Marine Division based on Hill 37. His name was never placed onto the company roster. My last deed in Vietnam was to identify his body at Graves Registration in Danang. Because of many factors only a few individuals even knew his name. I was able to identify Larry as the Marine killed that night because he was killed the night before I rotated out of Nam. (6/8/1969). I was able to use "The Wall" data base to reach this conclusion. He was from Penns Grove, New Jersey.
