Ron Manley & Danny Reikart, both USMC . . Contributed By Retha Yarbrough On Saturday, June 22, 2002 My brother, Staff Sgt Ronald Bennett Manley, & his best friend, Danny Reikart, enlisted in the Marine Corps together in 1962 in Louisville, Ky, after they "duked it out" to see which military branch they would enlist in (Ronnie won). Ronnie thought Danny died in Vietnam, but I can't find his name on the wall or pow list here. Any ideas? My brother Ronnie is a wonderful man, so kind and compassionate and if I could find Danny for him, it would be a Godsend. Thank you for any suggestions you might have for my search. God bless, Retha Yarbrough (rethayarbrough@aol.com or gramry245@aol.com) p.s. I live in Tucson AZ and he lives in Marana, AZ (approx 25 miles from me). I often cried while seeing our men die on the nightly news and over the years I had such an ache in my heart for our brave men who sacrificed their lives, or their sanity, or their limbs & sight. On April 1, 1998, I was given a gift from God that took away a lot of pain for me. My grandson, Seishin Son, was born, a beautiful, 1/4 Vietnamese child who has given our whole family so much love. My brother Ronnie had such a hard time when he found out my daughter was having a Vietnamese baby, but then realized that neither my grandson or his father did anything wrong by having Vietnamese blood in them. He met Seishin (sayshin) when he was 4 mths old at his own 25 wedding anniversary and took that baby and held and hugged him and then walked off alone with this gift from God and loved him. You see, Ronnie had to shoot a 3-y/o in Vietnam and it always has stayed w/him and hurt him and when he held my little gift he had a measure of healing. He looked at me and his wife and said, "He's beautiful."
