My Memories Of Vietnam
. . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Sunday, July 21, 2002
My Memories of Vietnam Most of my thoughts were written in the wee hours of a morning after I found myself back there in my mind. I guess most of my early years back when I returned from Nam were spent enjoying my safe return. I've never forgot those who never got that chance' so even the bad times felt good. I'm sure that those who were there or for that fact any War knows that feeling. Always thinking "Why Me?" That "Why Me" never goes away when I think of fellow MARINES next to me that never made it. "He stopped remembering Vietnam today. They placed a flag on his casket". Those words tell it all, as to always remembering. My uncle was killed in South Vietnam, Binh Dinh on August 22, 1967. His death occured when a hostile booby trap was detonated. My only chance to get to know my uncle will be from any of his friends that he served with. If you served with Jim I would love to hear more about him and the kind of person he was. This is a void that I have had in my life since I was old enough to understand what had happened to him.

All the information we have been able to find on the gentelman is written in her babybook and we would love to let some of his family know. Thank You, Stephanie

USAF SSGT Jimmy A. Coley ,Pleiku, July '68- 69
. . Contributed By Teri Coley On Friday, July 26, 2002
My father served from July 68-69 in Pleiku with the 6994th Security, Det. 3. He was a "ditty-bop" on recon flights. My dad doesn't talk about in time in Vietnam much. He has a difficult time watching T.V programs that deal with Vietnam. I am so proud that my dad served, and deeply thankful that he returned home to his family. I would like to find USAF members who may have served with him in Vietnam. I think it would be very healing for my dad to hear from those who went through the same things he went through. God bless the Veterans.

Perhaps this will help some

I see many who visit this board are looking for as much about their loved ones and Vietnam from others who knew them. I offer my view of vietnam at our site at www.geocities.com/chaplainflexer2002 It's called "Vietnam War Veterans Flagstaff & Memorial" I have been told by many fellow Vietnam Veterans that what I've written was the way they felt. I've always thought "I knew them all, yet I knew none". If you can list what unit they served with if known it would make a big difference. Email me if it is easier to get site address. With God, Then&Now Chaplain Howard Flexer USMC 64/67 Vietnam 65/66

CORPL. JESUS VASQUEZ USMC 67-69
. . Contributed By Ana Vasquez On Monday, August 05, 2002
Looking for anyone who knew my dad Jesus Vasquez. He serverd from 67-69 1st Bn, 1st Marines "C" Company. 3rd Plt., 2nd SEC. He died May 31, 2002. His kids would love to hear from anyone who knew him back then. I have some photos from Vietnam that he brought back and would like to know who the young men are. My father was very proud of being a Marine. He lost so many "brohters", Jose Salazar, Bradswell, Byrd, Hanson and I know there are more. He would always talk about them and often wondered why he made it back without them. My father, and everyone who served our country are my heros. I love and miss you dad. I would give anything to hear you say "ALERT ALIVE" to me one more time. Love you dad, Ana Vasquez
