Dale  Konieczka drkklk@hotmail.com Comrade I Remember Gary I volunteered today at the Moving Wall in Kenosha. I printed the pictures of Gary posted here, took them with me and used the pictures to discuss Gary with Wall visitors as I knew him and as his friends described him. I feel that as long as someone remains in our memory they are never really gone. Sep 14, 2013 |

Jim  Curley Jr. jcurley@jimcurley.com Fellow 0341 Mortarman & F.O. 30 Shady Lane Shrewsbury NJ 08702 USAI carry your memory I carry your memory with me every day of my life Litton, the last time I laid eyes on you, I yelled that I was going home to kiss your girlfriend. Your response was appropriate. That was the day you went to meet your maker. Two weeks later, while recovering at Naval Hospital Guam, I saw your name on the 'Roll of Honor' of Stars & Stripes newspaper. I have never been able to forget the crushing blow I suffered that day. You are a remarkable guy! Well it only took 44+ years to see you again. Last September my son[a Marine Captain] and I visited your grave. He knelt with a degree of respect that only a Marine could understand. Said a prayer. Wished you a pleasant journey. He turned and said,' Dad the Private is resting well.' SF May 15, 2013 |

Another Ten Years My last posting on this site was 10 years ago on this very day. My feelings haven't changed. There is not a Christmas that goes by without me telling the kids stories about how it was when I was a kid growing up in Kentucky. Gary Litton somehow always seems to find his way into those stories. I had the honor of meeting Dale Konieczka, who served with Gary a few years ago. He gave me photos of Gary taken while they were in Vietnam. Thanks to Dale for the stories, the photos and looking after Gary the way you did......I see that Brenda (Spears) Jackson has left a beautiful tribute as well........Some Gave All. Dec 27, 2008 |
