John  Ortiz ortizjohna@aol.com Wireman, H&S Co., 3/26th Marines 2013 N. Gow Wichita KS 67203 USA Proud To Have Served With You I remember April 15, 1968 and our conversation on Hill 881 South as if it were yesterday. We hadn't seen each other throughout the Tet Offensive but reunited for that brief few minutes and short conversation there on that hill top LZ. You were warm and friendly as each of us shared how we were doing and how we had spent the last several months during the Siege. It was brief, our hello, but I remember how calm you were that day. Your conversation with me was genuine, your smile was genuine. It was a very bright and clear day that day on Hill 881 S. Even after all that had happend there, it's natural beauty had not been destroyed. It was once a battlefield but now a sacred place to so many of us who remember. You seemed very much at peace with the world that day as I know you are at peace today. It was my priviledge to have known and served with you, a true Hero.
