I finally got to visit the Wall in 2000 in remembrance of William Matthews aka (Skipper). I remember the times on Uncle Hans and Aunt Dorothy's farm as kids as we would all play at reunions. I remember him so well,I am proud to be a member of his family. I remember his bravery the day of the tornado at the farm in April of 66. I have not forgotten him to this day and never will. Rest in peace dear cousin. Coletta

I had the opportunity to visit The Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC. I was so overwhelmed with sorrow and pain that I could not hold back the tears for those heroes and their families who lost so much. Though my visit to the Wall was a few years ago, I feel that I left a piece of my heart there. To honor those who died in the Vietnam War and to say thank youàI created a small tribute to those heroes. Please click on the link above to view memorial website.

We all miss ya cousin .
We knew you as "Skipper" when we were kids. You help me bait my first fish hook and how to untangle it from the sign in the derby pond. When we played "WAR" as kids we always HAD to be the Marines and never the army. I know that was always in your dad's honor. You helped me shoot my first bb gun, and the 22. Then the shot gun at your grandpa's farm. You help me first drive a car.Yes you also help me with my first beer and the day after. There wasn't much we didn't do as kids. Hell I even followed you into the Marine Corp. We had plans after we got out to have a couple of beers . 'guess the showing and help was over. Had to do that by my self. Rest in peace my cousin. We all miss you! We renamed our family reunion in your honor. William L. Matthews Jr.
