Proud to Wear MIA Bracelet
I will never forget the price he paid for our freedom. I got my bracelet in 1986 and have not taken it off since. Even when I was in Army and went to different places I never had to remove it.

I didn’t know this MIA Marine Capt. But he and all the others who died in Vietnam will not be forgotten as long as I live! Please read the book “Dreams Outback” by Darrell Norrod.

Wore bracelet as a child
I too wore his bracelet as a young girl in elementary school, during the Vietnam war. I recently came across an old article from a Long Island newspaper about his family getting ready for his memorial service. Prayers are sent out to his family for peace. Especially during this current era of war, I will continue to pray for peace and comfort for our many men and women serving for the United States.

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. "He which hath no stomach to this fight let him depart. But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless You for your Sacrifice!!!

Wore MIA bracelet during the war

I wore this bracelet when I was in middle school and recently found it and shared it with my own high school and college age children. It gave us an opportunity to talk about the history of that sad time and the great sacrifice that women and men like Roy Schmidt made for our country. It was my daughter's suggestion to use the internet to search the wall for his name. I never knew until today what happened to Captain Schmidt. I pray that someday Captain Schmidt's body will be retrieved and receive the hero's burial he so rightly deserves.

I also wore your name on a bracelet in the seventies and I'm from Lindenhurst, but unfortunately I lost the bracelet...but never forgot about you and somehow always hoped you made it home. Today, sadly I found out that you did not. I will pray each day for you to somehow find your way back to American soil. My prayers also for your family that all of you will find the peace you so deserve. Thank you for your sacrifice for our country...in peace...from a friend.

A Great Friend
Roy and I went through started flight school together in October, 1965. All of the way through Pensacola, Meridian and Kingsville. He was funny but took things very seriously. A great pilot and a true friend.
