You will never be forgotten, John. Your sacrifice, along with all your fellow Marines and other military branches, protects our great country and safeguards our freedom. I wish you had been given the opportunity to come home to your family, marry, raise children and grow old, watching your grandchildren living in freedom because of your bravery. It was not to be, but your legacy remains in the memories of your family and friends who loved you, including me. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Another Memorial Day
John, you are missed and remembered as a good man and a hero for your defense of our country to the death. I think of you often and will never forget the fun we had working together at McGraw-Hill. Thank you for your sacrifice and thank you to your family for theirs. Because of you and your brave comrades, living and deceased, our country is free and I have been able to raise my family in freedom and greatness!
