Edgar  Hodge edsvette1@netzero.com High School Friend 308 SE August Glen Lake City FL 32025 Rememberence He was a grade ahead of me in Clear Fork High School, and we played hard together on the foot ball team. He made me man-up a lot that year. He was the first Vietnam veteran funeral I went to. His sister and I were good friends also. I was drafted a couple years later, and spent my time ducking NVA bullets with the 101st Airborne Division, Camp Eagle. Rest in peace my friend and class mate. Nov 18, 2013 |

He was my mom's cousin and also classmate. I went to his grave a few years ago to pay my respects. Shelby Dean you are loved still and you was so brave for serving your country. You was so sheltered from living down home with all family around you and then taken away to go serve your country. You are still missed. Your in our hearts forever. Love you Nov 17, 2010 |

Henry Bergson hank@nemra.org Company Commander PO Box 182 Katonah,NY 10536 USA A name found and remembered Shelby Stover was a member of B Co 1/27 Inf 25th Div. I was his company commander. For many years after I came to grips with my Vietnam experienc I had been trying to remember the name of the only soldier from B Company who was killed when I was the commander. I had made many trips to the Wall but could not connect with the name. Some months ago I disvovered that the National Personal Records Center would search morning reports. They did and Shelbys name was was found. I now have the name to go with the face and nickname ( Hillbilly) I remembered all these years. I will be in Washington DC on Nov 8, 1999 and will visit Shelby at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Friday, October 29, 1999 |

Shawnee Wright (Phillips) sha_53@hotmail.com friend, classmate 2305 Curtis Avenue St Albans, WV 25177 USA Shelby Was One Of A Kind Shelby was one crazy guy. He was a clown who always made everyone laugh. He was loud and the center of attention when in a group. I remember him coming to our Young People's meetings at the Colcord Presbyterion Church. Always the comedian, he teased us girls unmercifully. One winter he joined a big group of us high school kids when we were sledding near the railroad crossing going up Sycamore. We had the best time. I have thought of him often over the years and remember that he said he would never come back from Viet Nam. He knew somehow. Wonder what Shelby would have become if he had lived? I know his family still misses him. He will always be a part of my high school memories. Wednesday, May 22, 2002 |
