Uncle Alex, You're Now A Great Uncle And Your Second NameSake Wants To See Your Memorial Wall
Although you never got to see us grow up, you do know my brother Alex followed in your heroic foot-steps joining the Marines and joining you in Heaven in 1982 at just 21 years old. I KNOW you both watch over me..I still vividly remember that dream/astrial projection when I had strep after Alex died. Your great-nephew, my brother Alex's nephew, my son Randy Alexander..yes his middle name is for Grandpa, You and my brother Alex, has chosen a different avenue to serve and protect, like his daddy, he is a Deputy Sheriff for one County, and his daddy another. You and Alex would BOTH be proud of the outstanding peace officers in our family. We Love and Miss You and are STILL hoping to find some of your service buddies. Am compiling Randy a biography of your short but well-lived life of kindness to others and how well loved you and remembered were by those who knew you since boyhood.Collecting all these heartwarming posts and pictures of you so Randy will know you as well as he did his Uncle Alex. I love and Miss You Uncle Alex. I wish I could locate your girlfriend Valerie Bunda or your buddies from Qaun Tri..I keep trying! To my baby brother Alex, I KNOW you're in safe hands with Uncle Alex and Randy wants you to know he loves his Uncle 'Ackey'. We spent my birthday last night looking thru the photo albums of you with him. You'd have been an excellent dad if given the chance. You too Uncle Alex!God Bless You Both. I miss and love you both so much..that hurt and loss of Uncle Alex has stayed with me since I was 9 in 1967 and Alex, my darling brother,21, I was 22 and it haunts me forever and I would have gladly taken your place. I can never forget either of you and don't plan on letting any family members to come forget either of you!! Love, Hugs, Blessings XOXO Jo-Anne

Loved, Missed, Remembered
Oh My Goodness! I Have Forgotten About This Board and My Post From So Many Years Ago! It's Wonderful to Re-Visit It and See These BEAUTIFUL Tributes to My Wonderful Uncle Alex! Thank You! I am still trying to locate any USMC veterans who knew and served with him or any of his friends. I remember one he brought home with him on leave..a fellow by the name of Joe Lemus (not sure if I spelled it correctly, but that's how it sounded). Feel free to contact me Via FaceBook (Jo-Anne Bowyer Crosswell)or email:bulletsbikesandbacon@centurylink.net I was finally able to secure some pictures of him in Nam. He had a million dollar smile and it's sad for me to look at HOW young he was (26) and the total devastation his death created as he was the only son, the only brother, the only uncle.Although he's been gone 43 years,I still love miss him and cry for what could/should have been. Thank you so much for these posts!XOXO Jo-Anne

A TRUE SON OF THE ROCK
Remembering my friend Alex I remember the day we met. I was crying in my wheelchair as I had T.B.He asked me why I was crying.I said I would like to play football with you and my brothers but I can't.Then you said sure you can and you and my brothers lifted me up and put me on the football pitch. Then you said you can be the goalkeeper.Other days we would go swimming and you would carry me on your shoulders down to the pool near the river leven.I have never looked back from those days.some years later I got married and had eight kids.I am now retired and enjoy watching my nineteen grandchildren grow up.So you see my friend you touch the life of so many people.I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU.
